The equilibrium reaction between chromate (CrO42-) and dichromate (Cr2O72-) can be described by the following reaction: 2CrO42- + 2H+ ↔ Cr2O72- + H2O Adding Ba(NO3)2 to the reaction causes CrO42- to precipitate. Describe in 4 to 6 sentences how Ba(NO3)2 can be used to determine how much CrO42- is present, and then identify the color of the solution with a greater amount of precipitate.

@chmvijay I'm not really sure. Does it have anything to do with the common ion effect or using titration to find the unknown concentration of a substance?
