In a dry cleaning establishment, warm dry air is blown through a revolving drum in which clothes are tumbled until all of the Stoddard solvent is evaporated. The solvent may be assumed to be n-octane and to have a vapor pressure of 2.36 in Hg at 120oF. If the air at 120oF becomes saturated with the solvent, determine the a) pounds of air required to evaporate one pound of solvent b) % octane in the air leaving the drum (by volume) c) ft3 of inlet air required per lb of octane assuming that the pressure is 29.66 in Hg.
