Which of the following substances will be an electrolyte? glucose (C6H12O6) sucrose (C12H22O11) carbon dioxide (CO2) magnesium chloride (MgCl2)

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

Magnesium chloride is considered a strong electrolyte and completely dissociates into its ions in an aqueous solution. Also the magnesium chloride conducts electricity after it dissociates. The CO2 doesn't dissociate into ions but conducts electricity and therefore doesn't meet the requirements. As for the other two they don't conduct electricity and they don't dissociate into ions when in an aqueous solution.
