QUICK QUESTION What is the unit for reaction rate?

rvc (rvc):

write the equation :)

rvc (rvc):

find out the unit for each terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me re-phrase my question. Actually I want to know the unit for the rate constant k, in the reaction rate expression @rvc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've already solved for k here.

rvc (rvc):

Write the equation :) ill help u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.... Rate = k[NO2]^x[CO]^y 0.02 = k[0.1]^2[0.1]^0 0.02= k[0.1]^2 k = 2... units????

rvc (rvc):

yeah so the reaction is a second order reaction the unit of rate is : M/s the unit of concentration is : M^2(in this case)

rvc (rvc):

|dw:1435242064636:dw|

rvc (rvc):

so k =?

rvc (rvc):

\(\huge\rm k=\frac{M/s}{M^2}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So M-1/s?

rvc (rvc):

go to chemistry section please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

M^-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's still math related though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And there is a quicker response on this page.

rvc (rvc):

im at your question in chemistry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Fair enough..
