? Consider the following equilibrium: 4KO2(s) + 2H2O(g) 4KOH(s) + 3O2(g) Which of the following is a correct equilibrium expression? Keq=[KOH]4[O2]3[KO2]4[H2O]2 Keq=[H2O]2[O2]3 Keq=[KO2]4[H2O]2[KOH]4[O2]3 Keq=[O2]3[H2O]2

For the reaction 4KO2 (s) + 2H20(g) --- 4KOH (s) + 3O2(g) We never include the concentrations of pure solids or liquids or very dilute liquids, because for those substances the concentrations don't change much. Usually one includes the substances in the gaseous phase, so we can neglect the solids on the products and reactant sides. The equilibrium expression takes the concentration of the products raised to the power of their stoichiometric coefficient. So we have products/reactants So our equilibrium expression is the following: [O2]^3/[H2O]^2
