jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

@rvc it should be \[\LARGE \sqrt[n]{x} \cdot \sqrt[n]{x} = \sqrt[n]{x*x}= \sqrt[n]{x^2}\] you might be thinking of \[\LARGE \left(\sqrt[n]{x}\right)^n = x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, so what do I do?

rvc (rvc):

as jim said :) \[\Large \sqrt[7]{x} \cdot \sqrt[7]{x} = ?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt[7]{x^4}\] for my problem, right?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

correct @RosieF

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what next?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you can't simplify any further because the 4 is smaller than 7

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

\[\LARGE \sqrt[n]{x^m}\] Can simplify if m \(\ge\) n Cannot simplify if m < n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, thank you :)
