can anyone help me i will give a medal!!
sure what is your question
Anyone can they please try??????
Just to confirm your understanding, can you complete the definition of independence: \[\large P(A \cap B)=?\]
yes
What is the right hand side of the definition? Please post it here.
=0.75
for the first one correct?
I think you should post the definition of independence of events A and B before we continue.
The definition of independence is as follows: Events A and B are independent if and only if\[\large P(A\cap B)=P(A) \times P(B)\] Using this definition, are the events in 1a independent?
It appears from your answers that either you are guessing or you do not understand the definition of independence (or both).
Im not guessing thats the answers i got
Well how did you get the answer 'dependent' for 1a ?
.45(30)=.135 that cancels out .75 so its not independent
The correct explanation for 1a is as follows: P(A) = 0.45 P(B) = 0.3 If events A and B were independent \[\large P(A) \times P(B)=0.135\] However A intersection B = 0.75, therefore the events are dependent.
can you help me on two more
