Hi! I just need clear and simple clarification. Difference between physical property and physical change? chemical property and chemical change?

OpenStudy (cuanchi):

Physical Property: A physical property is one that is displayed without any change in composition. (Intensive or Extensive) Physical Change: Change in which the matter's physical appearance is altered, but composition remains unchanged. (Change in state of matter) Chemical Property: Any characteristic that gives a sample of matter the ability/inability to undergo a change that alters its composition. Examples: Alkali metals react with water; Paper's ability to burn. Chemical Change: Change in which one or more kinds of matter are transformed to new kinds of matter with altered compositions (or Chemical Reaction). http://chemwiki.ucdavis.edu/Analytical_Chemistry/Chemical_Reactions/Properties_of_Matter

OpenStudy (thadyoung):

Think physical, you can change your physical appearance, meaning, you can change a person from being fat to skinny. That's a physical change. You're the same person, just thinner. Nothing about you has changed chemically. You're not a rock or a plant, still a human being. an example of a chemical change is baking a cake. You start with powder and some milk, and that milk combines with the powder to form a "solid". If it were to remain as milk and powder, it would NOT be a chemical change. anytime you form something completely NEW than what you started with is a chemical change.
