OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Silver chloride (AgCl) is considered to be insoluble. Silver nitrate (AgNO3) is classified as soluble. How do the solubility product constants (Ksp) of these compounds compare? Explain.

OpenStudy (thadyoung):

i see you asking help for a lot of questions but not making much effort to answer them yourself. try it. make an effort to try and answer this yourself so others can help guide you in the right direction.

OpenStudy (photon336):

I usually hate memorizing things, but the rules for solubility are generally that nitrates are soluble, so AgNO3 would be soluble. However the relationship between Ksp and solubility is one that's rather simple. Just ask yourself if something is able to dissolve better in a particular solvent than another compound, then how would this affect the Ksp?

OpenStudy (photon336):

The Ksp measures the solutes ability to dissolve in a given solvent. Remember like dissolves like.
