You have to match up the positive and negative charges and swap them between the compounds. This would leave you with NaCl and H2O.

NaOH is a alkali (bases soluble in water) & HCl is an acid. 1) Acid + base → Salt + water + heat (neutralisation reaction). 2)The equation is already balanced. To check whether it is balanced check whether the number of atoms of each kind are equal on both RHS & LHS. Now you must be wondering about H2 on the R.H.S & H on the L.H.S. You might think it is not balanced. But i t is balanced because there are t H(s) on L.H.S one from HCl & the other from NaO"H". 3)NaOH & HCl are the reactants & NaCl & H2O are the products.
