[Help] Simplify: 2x^4 - 5x^3 - 24x^2 + 13x + 10 over 2x^2 + x +1
\[(2x^4-5x^3-24x^2+13x+10)\div(2x^2+x-1)\]
we have to use long division for a polynomial. Have you ever done this before?

My answer is \[x^2-3x-10+\frac{ 10x }{2x^2+x-1}\]
it should end up as a quadratic ax^2 +bx + c with a possible remainder

Are we allowed to have a variable of 10x in the remainder? It's my first time to encounter such an equation. I usually end up with a constant/divisor. Instead of a value with a variable/divisor.
