LEO/GER I think Calcium was oxidized, because it went from 0 --> +2 reducing agent chlorine was reduced so it went from 0 --> -2. oxidizing agent

Like from the answers they argue that, an oxidizing/reducing agent pair can't be a molecule like CaCl2

But an oxidising agent is sumthn which reduces itself to oxidise another species righT? and also reducing AGENT means that it would oxidize itself to reduce some other species nah? Here Cl2 Reduces itself to -2 to oxidize Ca to 2 So that is why I took the answer C

@Rushwr never thought of it that way. oxidizing agent something that gives electrons to something else and is oxidized in the process. I always have trouble with the activity series. things like that.
