OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i got

Nnesha (nnesha):

how did you get -4 show your work :=)

Nnesha (nnesha):

solve by using the *perfect squares method* what waz your first step ? :=)

sorry opn studys acting up

See how the coefficient on x^2 is a perfect square? (it is 1, which is 1 squared). See also how the constant term is a perfect square? (it is 16, which is 4 squared). Notice also that if you take the coefficient on the middle term (8) and divide it by 2 (giving you 4) and then square it, you get the product of the 1 and the 16? (4 squared is 16) That tells us this trinomial is a perfect square. (x+4)^2 By the zero product property, we know that x+4=0, so x=-4

Nnesha (nnesha):

nice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it right

Nnesha (nnesha):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
