If solid Tungsten(VI)Oxide is reacted with Hydrogen gas, the result is gaseous water and Tungsten metal. How many grams of Hydrogen gas are needed to produce 1.00 grams of Tungsten metal?

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

1. Write out the reaction 2. Balance the reaction see: https://www.khanacademy.org/science/chemistry/chemical-reactions-stoichiome/balancing-chemical-equations/v/balancing-chemical-equations-introduction 3. Convert 1 gram of tungsten metal to moles using the following formula: moles = gram/molecular mass where molecular mass would be the molecular mass of tungstun and grams = 1 Molecular mass can be calculated using a periodic table here are some instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9NkYSKJifs 4. Use the moles of tungsten metal and the reaction equation to find the moles of hydrogen needed to get 1g of tungstun to do this you divide the moles of tungstun by the number in front of the tungstun in the reaction equation and multiply by the number in front of the hydrogen in the reaction equation (the numbers you got from balancing) if there is no number in front of them then it is just 1 5. Convert moles of hydrogen to grams using the following relation moles = grams/molecular mass where molecular mass is the molecular mass of hydrogen gas
