Chem question

OpenStudy (photon336):

@Rushwr @taramgrant0543664 will post in a bit.

OpenStudy (photon336):

The numbers for the questions got cut out

OpenStudy (photon336):

1.Gas particles approach ideal behavior at low pressure and high temperature, which postulate of kinetic molecular theory is a problem at high pressure? 2.Gas samples approach ideal behavior at low pressure and high temperature which postulate of the kinetic molecular theory is a problem at low temperature?

OpenStudy (photon336):

please let me know if you can't see the image/answer choices.

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

These are my ideas and forgive me if I am wrong. You definitely want to check with someone else. I believe for question one the postulate would be answer choice B. For question two I believe the answer is choice A.

OpenStudy (photon336):

yeah these ones were pretty tough

OpenStudy (rushwr):

is it B and C?

OpenStudy (photon336):

I don't think for The second one it's D

OpenStudy (photon336):

or the first one because the particles are always moving regardless

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

For the second one I thought A. As at low temperature gas molecules will be slower and therefore intermolecular forces would have a much larger affect than if the gasses were moving faster at a higher temp.

OpenStudy (photon336):

@sweetburger no, i was saying that i don't think the answer is D for either of them

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

oh sorry my bad

OpenStudy (photon336):

I agree with you 100% though

OpenStudy (rushwr):

what are the answers given?

OpenStudy (photon336):

b/c at lower temp there's definitely more attraction between particles than at higher temp,

OpenStudy (photon336):

Will post them In a bit guys I don't have the manual with me right now

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

alright

OpenStudy (photon336):

i'm leaning towards B for the first one

OpenStudy (photon336):

what do you guys think?

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

I agree B. is my first choice.

OpenStudy (photon336):

Will keep this open everyone! gonna post another question

OpenStudy (rushwr):

So I got it right ? Oh I wasn't that confident on the answer though!

OpenStudy (photon336):

I'm pretty sure the first one is B.

OpenStudy (rushwr):

The 1st one I was sure. but 2nd one I had a doubt

OpenStudy (photon336):

will close this out, but will post answers to this later when I find the book.

OpenStudy (photon336):

202 (B) At high pressure there are many gas molecules colliding with the inside walls of the container. this means that there are a large number of molecules which makes the volume of the molecules themselves no longer negligible.

OpenStudy (photon336):

203. A the interaction between oparticles becomes more significant when the kinetic energies of the particles are lower at lower temperatures.
