Do you remember the equation of the line? y = mx+b?
|dw:1438422409021:dw| for reference
put values x=-8 and y=-4, you will get your answer easily which satisfies
Essentially inequalities are like equation of a line with a few extra rules, such as if it's <, >, then we will have a dashed line, and if we have \[\le ~~~\text{and}~~~\ge \] you will have a solid line. Just with that information we can eliminate two of the options, so which ones can we eliminate?
example==> Option A, 4(-8)-3(-4) is not greater than -12, so cut that out
What @arindameducationusc is showing you is the intercepts, that's a good way to graph quickly and figure out which one it is.
You there @dom4958 ?
Ya, thats a quick way but equation y=mx+c also should be remembered for straight lines! Thumbs up @Astrophysics
@arindameducationusc so it would be b?
Please read everything we've said...
omg its d. thanks @Astrophysics
Yes, but make sure you understand how to do it using equation of line/ intercepts, what ever because the sign may not always be reliable but for this problem it was obvious without doing any work :P
