OpenStudy (mtimko):

A rock of mass 0.750 kg is spin in a circle of radius 45.0 cm. If the centripetal force on the rock is 8.00 N, then what is the linear velocity of the rock?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

you can use this: \(\large F = \frac{m \ v^2}{r}\)

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

Use F=mv^2/r. When a body moves in a circle, its direction of motion at any instant is along the tangent to the circle at that instant. A centripetal force is a force that makes a body follow a curved path. Its direction is always orthogonal to the motion of the body and towards the fixed point of the instantaneous center of curvature of the path.
