PLEASE HELP!!! Describe in detail what you expect for the changes in enthalpy, entropy, and free energy when a sample of liquid evaporates. How does temperature affect these changes?

@Afrodiddle @whatnow Please help

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

when liquid evaporates we know that it's going from a liquid to a gas therefore going from an ordered state to a more chaotic disordered state meaning the entropy which is the measure of order, goes up. Since this is a spontaneous reaction at high temperatures and non spontaneous at low temperatures and free energy is negative for spontaneous then we can say at high temperatures free energy is negative and at high temps and positive at low temps. Also since evaporation requires energy to evaporate the enthalpy is positive.

@taramgrant0543664 Thank you! Would you mind explaining another question for me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Pencera could you help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Determine the rate law, including the values of the orders and rate law constant, for the following reaction using the experimental data provided. A + B yields products Trial [A] [B] Rate 1 0.15 M 0.12 M 1.3 × 10-2 M/min 2 0.30 M 0.12 M 2.6 × 10-2 M/min 3 0.15 M 0.24 M 5.2 × 10-2 M/min

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait which on is a and which one is b

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

So I am absolutely horrible at explaining this so I found you a link the takes you through an example of how to do it! Sorry! Hope it helps!!

http://www.chem.purdue.edu/gchelp/howtosolveit/Kinetics/DifferentialRateLaws.html Maybe if I posted the link that might help!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Pencera That's the corrected table

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@taramgrant0543664 Thank you for helping! It looks pretty informative lol

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

Ya I checked through it since I didn't want to post a stupid link but I think that I would just confuse you more if I tried to explain and I didn't want to do that! So hopefully that helps if it doesn't it doesn't I highly suggest the Khan Academy videos on YouTube they start out with basics and explain each step they helped me out when I did this stuff!

@taramgrant0543664 That link definitely helped me understand! Thank you so much!
