OpenStudy (mmend98):

The relationship between pressure and moles, when volume and temperature of a gas are held constant, is: P/n = k. We could say then, that: If the number of moles is doubled, the pressure is halved. If the number of moles if halved, the pressure is doubled. If the number of moles is tripled, the pressure also triples. If the number of moles is halved, the pressure is quadrupled.

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Lets say k is a constant which it is and the value of k is 9. So that means that P/n is equivalent to 27/3 now if we doubled the number of moles present we would have 27/6 which does not equal 9 so that means the pressure must also be doubled to a value of 54/6 that indeed equals the constant k which has a value of 9. Apply the concept I explained to find the correct answer.

OpenStudy (mmend98):

so c would be the correct answer? @sweetburger

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Yea, i think so. going on the same thing i said earlier (27*3)/(3*3)= 9 so nothing changes. So C should be correct.

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Yes, it is C, as pressure is directly proportional to moles
