Which of the following represents the pH of a solution that has a 10-5M concentration of OH ion? A-8 B-5 C-7 D-9 E-Determinable only if the pka is known. F-Determinable only if the base composition is known how to calculate?

OpenStudy (nechirwan):

whats the relation between pH with concentration of Hydrogen ion? and relation between pOH with concentration of hydroxide ion ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't really recall the relation and the way to calculate it!

OpenStudy (nechirwan):

ok pH = -log[H] pOH= -log[OH] pH+pOH=14 can u solve it now ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here is what I did, -log(10)=-1 ph+-1=14 =15 ???

OpenStudy (nechirwan):

lol its \[10^{-5} \] not 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:( I totally forgot the way...thanks Alot Nechirwan, the answer is 9 :)

OpenStudy (nechirwan):
