Have you learned about noble gases yet?

OpenStudy (ilovebmth1234):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Noble gases are very unreactive, so which one of these do you think is a noble gas?

OpenStudy (ilovebmth1234):

Ar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct! This will be your answer.

The name "argon" is derived from the Greek word αργον, neuter singular form of αργος meaning "lazy" or "inactive", as a reference to the fact that the element undergoes almost no chemical reactions.

OpenStudy (photon336):

noble gases are un reactive because they have 8 valence electrons, a filled shell; remember an elements reactivity will be based on how many valence electron that element has. some elements achieve octet by gaining electrons while others by losing electrons.

OpenStudy (rushwr):

I agree with u the most @Photon336
