Which of the following statements about the compound HCI is true? A.The physical and chemical properties of HCI are different from those of H2 and CI2. B.Only the physical properties of HCI are different from those of H2 and CI2. C.Only the chemical properties of HCI are different from those of H2 and CI2. D.The physical and chemical properties of HCI are the same are those of H2 and CI2.

OpenStudy (rushwr):

I would rather go with A Cuzz it's obvious it's different from the physical propoerties as HCl is a liquid while H2 and Cl2 are gases

OpenStudy (rushwr):

The chemical properties will vary tooo cuz of the difference in masses ! @Photon336 what do u think about this ?

OpenStudy (photon336):

Well for starters, HCL, H2, and Cl2 are entirely different compounds.

OpenStudy (photon336):

they aren't the same compound, so both their chemical and physical properties will be different.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so I would cancel out D, and I looked more into the question and answers. So the answer is A im thinking. @Rushwr @Photon336

OpenStudy (rushwr):

yes !

OpenStudy (photon336):

@Jwhero Yeah, a compound has different chem/physical properties. for example, Chlorine Gas Cl2. HCl is acidic ---> H+ + Cl- while chlorine gas isn't acidic, HCl can exist as a liquid, while Cl2 and H2 are gases at room-temperatue.
