Which of the following can be used to neutralize a sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution? NaCl NH3 HCl Ca(OH)2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@taramgrant0543664

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

NaOH is a strong base so your answer is the strong acid so it can be neutralized

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@taramgrant0543664

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

Yes that would be right HCl is a strong acid

Which of the following is the best explanation why a reaction in a closed container can appear to stop before all the reactants are converted to products? The forward reaction has run to completion, and the reverse reaction has started. The reaction reaches equilibrium, and the forward and reverse reactions stop. The forward and reverse reactions eventually reach the same rate. The limiting reactant prevents the forward reaction from continuing to completion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would b be correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@taramgrant0543664

OpenStudy (photon336):

at Equilibrium the forward and reverse reactions don't stop; the rates are equal but that doesn't mean that the concentrations are equal.

OpenStudy (photon336):

if the reverse reaction started you would see an increase in the reactants. @jammy987 why did you choose that answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Photon336 my bad a is the right answer !

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

sorry I had someone come into my work to ask a question but @Photon336 has it right there they establish an equilibrium but they don't stop

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so a is correct ? @taramgrant0543664

OpenStudy (photon336):

i think it's the limiting reactant because once that is used up I guess the reaction would appear to stop and there would still be reactant left over.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so d @Photon336

OpenStudy (photon336):

to me that makes the most sense

Which of the following statements is not true regarding acids? Acids can be corrosive, causing damage to skin or clothing. Many fruits contain weak acids, giving them a sour taste. Acids react with bases in neutralization reactions to produce water. The hydroxide ion concentration is greater than the hydronium ion concentration.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Photon336 c seem the falses
