OpenStudy (misty1212):

careful careful here this can be very confusing

OpenStudy (misty1212):

lets go nice an slow ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is. I want to work it out

OpenStudy (misty1212):

we need to do three things ready?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (misty1212):

first lets multiply the numbers out front \[4.5\times6 = ?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

27

OpenStudy (misty1212):

right notice that it is larger than 10, so we will have to adjust something put that aside for a second and add the exponents \[-8+(-4)=?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-12

OpenStudy (misty1212):

right

OpenStudy (misty1212):

so one answer (not the final one) is \[27\times 10^{-12}\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you can't use \(27\) because it is larger than 10 so you have to use \(2.7\) that means you have to change the exponent as well

OpenStudy (misty1212):

when you go from \(27\) to \(2.7\) you are dividing by 10 to compensate you have to add 1 to the exponent what i s\(-12+1\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im back sorry it's -11 SO that means it's D.

tysm @misty1212! I got a 100%!!!
