How many moles of carbon dioxide gas can be produced when 12.8 moles of benzene (C6H6) react with excess oxygen? I balanced the equation as 2C6H6 + 15O2 --> 12CO2 + 6H2O but I am stuck again

I dont understand how I find the amount of moles like do i take the 12.8 and divide it by the molar mass?

1) we know the no. of moles of benzene right? 12.8mol 2) See the mole ratio between benzene and co2 ! That is 2:12 if we simplify it more 1:6 right ?

That is 2 moles of benzene froms 12 moles of CO2 . Or we can say 1 moles of benzene forms 6 moles of CO2 ! Got it up to this point ?

when you balance a chemical equation, you're not just balancing individual atoms, you're also creating a \(mole\) ratio between the components, as @rushwr is saying

Ohhhh okay now I completely understand that but what is the next step

Now we know the moles of benzene that 12.8 mol So we can find the no. of moles of CO2 right ? We know 1mole of benzene forms 6moles of CO2 right? So to find the no. of moles of CO2 formed by 12.8 moles of benzene we have to multiply 12.8 from 6 and this amount would be the no. of moles of CO2 ! Right?

so it would be 76.8 right? and that would be CO2
