Two metal blocks that have slightly different temperatures are placed next to one another. After five minutes, they both have lower but equal temperatures. According to the law of conservation of energy, what most likely happened?
Any ideas?
Even though this isnt math... Theres another post of this question http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/53514d97e4b0285dde953d9d
ik its science but i didnt notice till i posted oopsie
its one of these Energy was created inside the blocks. Energy was destroyed inside the blocks. Energy was absorbed into the blocks from outside the system. Energy was transferred from the warmer block to the cooler block
thx both of you
what's your answer?
No problem
its d?
i hope
they BOTH have lower but equal temperatures
its not a or b bc energey cant be created or destroyed
so i think its d
Wasn't a or b,(like you said) and energy can be transferred so i think your right
Newtons law: Energy cannot be created or destroyed
How can they BOTH have lower but equal temperatures?
Well, the temp lowered but there now the same temp
the cooler block has to warm UP
so is it c bc if it is i just failed tht questions
absorbing would raise both temperatures
Yep because heat is absorbed
the question says "they both have lower but equal temperatures"
DANGET ..... so it IS c?
yeah that is strange, because warmth trys to overcome the cold,
not the opposite way around...
just go with d
ok
something is wrong with the question :-\
ikr
i copey and pasted so nope
whoever wrote it made a mistake
