Please help me out. :) Coconut water can be concentrated to 20% solids by freeze concentration wherein water freezes and leaves most of the solid constituent in the liquid portion. Compound water normally contains 1.5% solids. How kg product (20% solids) can be obtained from 1000L of fresh coconut water if every kg of water frozen carries with it, 0.01 kg of liquid solution. Assume a density of 1 g/cm^3 for all liquids.

I was thinking it like this! We are given with the density and the volume right ? From that we can find the mass in grams turn it to kg It says for each kg of water 0.01kg of liquid right ? find the the amount for the given mass. Deduct it from the total mass and u get the mass of the frozen solution !

I was thinking you use the formula m=vd m is mass so that is the unknown in this case v is the volume which I guess would be the 1000L (but the thing is is that the density is measured in cm^3 so something has to get converted so that units cancel out) d is density which is given When m is solved it would be in g so it would have to be converted to kg And this is where I get stuck: You could use ratios to relate each to determine the mass possibly I'm not sure though the question is worded odd and I think that some numbers are not significant just there to confuse people possibly
