..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can it be x x +2 and x+4?

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

It cannot be be x x +2 and x+4.. because if x=2 or any even number , then the remaining numbers cannot be odd integers.. I hope you understood...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm it cant

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

So what I suggest is.. take the numbers as: 2x - 1 , 2x + 1 and 2x + 3

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

here you asked about consecutive integers not odd integers so take x, x+1 , x+2 etc

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

let the 3 integers be x,x+1,x+2

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh okay

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

got it ?same as before :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i do! : )

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

ohh.... i misread the question...yup then what @sohailiftikhar said is the correct one

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

ok now do it your own :) if you want help tell after your work ok

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

5(x+2)=3(x+x+1)-11

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

@glitterythings whats your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im solving it rn, thank you.!

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

no problem ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i distributed, so 5x + 10 = 3x +3x +3 -11 is that right?

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

correct:)

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

then?

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

no it's wrong

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

5x+10=11-3(x+x+1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh lol

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

now solve it ..

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

no no its said 11 less than so it means 11 is subtracted from it

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

@glitterythings do the way i told you

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

less means subtraction ok

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

yeah so 3 times the two integer is definitely bigger than 11 so how can you subtract that from 11??????

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

rather 11 is subtracted from 3 times the two integer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay thanks!

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i did my work wrong tho, I did 5x + 10 = 3x+3x+3-11 5x + 10 = 6x +3 -11 5x+10 = 6x -8 ??

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

x=-18

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

i'm sorry

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

my mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay got it :) but 5-6 would be -x so wouldnt it be a positive?

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

lol it would be x=18 by your method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bc of the two negatives right? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm i figured it out

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

5x+10=6x-8 6x-5x=10+8 x=18

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

is it the correct answer huh ?

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

18 is the correct answer

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

no pls don't confuse me any more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wellll if you switched the sides wouldnt it be -10 + -8? idk .. lol thanks though

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

@glitterythings why are you getting confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm i think im just confusing myself

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

we are no switching sides we are combining the same terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it :) sorrry

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

5x+10 = 6x -8 5x-6x=-10-8 -x=-18 x=18

OpenStudy (sohailiftikhar):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thats what i did @madhu.mukherjee.946

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

thats correct
