Help Please
What is the problem?
I will try my best to help, but I'm up only to early geometry.
Just a sec
Take your time.
So if it was +2 instead of -2 would the bottom be shaded?
Instead of the top
The shading would only be different if the inequality sign were opposite.
Does it ask if the line would look different, or only about the shading?
It isn't a question on a test or work sheet, I was just wondering if it would be
Oh okay.
Also, if the sign is equal to or larger/smaller than (the sign with the dash underneath), the line would be solid instead of of dotted.
So only if the inequality was the opposite would it be on the bottom? Wether or not the numbers are negative or positive?
itll reflect if its opposite
negative oops
It depends. So if the sign is pointing right, like >, the shaded area would be the left. I just look at where the "mouth" of the sign is pointing, and shade that part.
Sorry if that comment didn't help much, I'm not that good at putting these stuff into words :p
Also, the negative and positive numbers don't matter as much if the line is already there. But if you go 1 step behind, where you still have to isolate y. During that step, if you divide a negative number on both sides, then you will have to flip the sign.
|dw:1441580265534:dw| like this?
Opposite. Wherever the wider side opens, that side of the graph is shaded.
Oh ok, so like this? |dw:1441580556505:dw|
