Which measurement contains three significant figures? A.) 0.01 g B.) 0.010 g C.) 0.0100 g D.) 0.01000 g Whoever answers could you please help to explain significant digits to me? My book is making it so confusing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C. The reason is because A.0.01 only has 1 because any zeros before a whole number is not significant. B. 0.010 has 2 sig figs and D. has four 0.01000. Zeros after a whole number counts as a significant just not before.

Significant figures are just non place holding digits. Do you get it?

Yes thank you so much!
