OpenStudy (zale101):

To get the number of Neutrons (#Mass -#atomic number). An atoms mass is made up of protons and neutrons. The atomic number indicates how many electrons and and protons it has. Electrons changes if the elements becomes on their ion state, then the electrons decrease or increase by gaining or loosing electrons depending on their charge.
