How do I convert measure in metric system? @jim_thompson5910
how far did you get?
Number 11 for the metric system ladder method.
so we have 256 place a decimal point between the first two digits (2 and 5) to get 2.56 how many spots must we move the decimal to get back to 256 ?
oh wait, I'm in the wrong section
ok so 6 L to mL
use something like this chart http://www.notredameacademy.ca/docs/homework/Lesson%201a%20-%20Metric%20Ladder%20Powerpoint.pdf
and wrong number too. lol. I got 6000 L.
`6 L = 6000 mL` I think you meant to say?
oh I was right. 6000 mL
yes `6 L = 6000 mL` is true
ok.
For #2 are you saying that `1.3 g = 0.13 kg` ?
yes.
that is incorrect
go to this link for the basic template http://www.notredameacademy.ca/docs/homework/Lesson%201a%20-%20Metric%20Ladder%20Powerpoint.pdf start at the "basic unit" block. In this case, it's grams then move until you get to the "kilo" block. Count out the number of spaces and take note of the direction you move
I moved to the left 3 times.
so you move the decimal point in `1.3` three places to the left
Yes, but you don't need the zeroes in this case?
what do you mean?
Never mind. Do you need to add zeroes if you move to the left, because I did that for every problem like it?
yes as you move the decimal point to the left, you will have 0s in between so `1.3` turns into `0.13` after moving the decimal point once to the left then we will have `0.013` after 2 moves to the left then we will have `0.0013` after 3 moves to the left
So you need the zeroes?
yes if you leave them out then you'd get back to 0.13 or something
Ok. Can you check the rest to make sure they are right. I'm sorry.
