How do I solve this problem? Acetone, CH3COCH3, is a nonelectrolyte; hypochlorous acid, HClO, is a weak electrolyte; and ammonium chloride, NH4Cl, is a strong electrolyte. Part A What solute particles are present in an aqueous solution of CH3COCH3? Express your answer as a chemical expression. If there is more than one answer, separate them by a comma.
Hi there Welcome to open study !!!!!!!! What do u think the answer is ?
Okai nevermind then ,an electrolyte is something that dissociates or forms ions in aqueous solution. Nonelectrolytes, by definition do not dissociate sooo weak electrolytes have a portion of compounds dissociate while others stay intact. Strong electrolyte compound dissociate completely. acetone is a nonelectrolyte, so you can assume it will stay in one piece. so you can expect to only see CH3COCH3 in a solution of acetone
Did u get it ? @jkkruk
Thank you! That makes sense.
Thanks. If u have any other question, close this one and open another question :)
