describe in words the electron transfer(s) that takes place in this equation 2PbS + 3O2 ----> 2PbO + 2SO2

OpenStudy (moonlight93):

balanced equation : 2 PbS + 3 O2 = 2 PbO + 2 SO2 all you have to do is make sure the number of each element in the reactant are the same as the number of elements in the product for example the reactant (left side of equation) had O2 , while the product had O and O2, which equals to three O. Just play with the numbers and balance both sides.

OpenStudy (arihangdu):

That is ok but how to do the second part of question? Do you have any idea please?

OpenStudy (moonlight93):

no, I'm sorry. I forgot how to do the second part. Hopefully someone else would help you :)

OpenStudy (moonlight93):

oh and there are lots of online websites that does the balancing for you, to check your work. here is my favorite http://www.webqc.org/balance.php

OpenStudy (arihangdu):

Thanks you my friend .

OpenStudy (moonlight93):

no worries.
