The scale on the y-axis starts from 0 and goes up to 200 at intervals of 50. Which of the following best describes the graph It will not be spread out horizontally across the entire coordinate plane because in Step 4, Nancy selected an incorrect scale on the x-axis. It will not be spread out vertically across the entire coordinate plane because in Step 5, Nancy selected an incorrect scale on the y-axis. The temperature is going to `depend` on the time. So time is the `independent` variable which we plot along the x-axis. So that should narrow down our options a little bit :) If time was plotting on the x-axis, then we have no problems there. Which also means that temperature being plotted along the y-axis is a-okay.
So something is wrong with one of our scalings.
The x's are: \(\large\rm 0,1,2,3,4\) and she labeled the graph from \(\large\rm 0\text{ to } 5\). The y's are: \(\large\rm 50,60,70,80,90\) and she labeled the graph from \(\large\rm 0\text{ to }200\). Which one seems to be off? :o
