Which aqueous solution freezes the lowest temperature? a)0.30 m C2H5OH B) 025 M KNO3 C) 0.20 M CaBr2 d) 0.10 m FeCl3 when I calculate the molarity for all of them, it turns out the answer is B but I'm nit sure. please help

OpenStudy (aaronq):

are you sure b) and c) are given in molarity (capital M)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B) 0.25 M

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NO small m

OpenStudy (aaronq):

okay, so next time copy the question correctly. capital M is molarity and lowercase m is molality. they're different. Use the formula \(\Delta T=i*m*Kb\) Kb is constant, so focus on the value for i, the van't hoff constant, and the molality. I can tell you it's not b)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much I did not know they are different. good information

OpenStudy (aaronq):

no problem, i hope you can find the answer to your question now

OpenStudy (anonymous):
