What is the position of an element in the periodic table if its electron configuration is 1sÆ 2sÆ 2pÒ 3sÆ 3p¢?

OpenStudy (photon336):

@tomie2020 I cant' see the number of electrons in each orbital

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1s^2 2s^2 2p^6 3s^2 3p^5

OpenStudy (photon336):

@tomie2020 let's add them up, meaning the numbers in the superscript are the number of electrons we have : so all we do is this 2+2+6+2+5 = 17 electrons

OpenStudy (photon336):

Does this make sense @tomie2020 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just started this lesson so not really
