Do you think maybe "should" is a verbal? (I'm not terribly sure)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

Okay...Just a second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but at the same time i think speak is

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

Okay. I think speak wouldn't be only because it is used more as a verb than an adjective/adverb I think

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

So which of those answers (of the type of verbal) do you think it is?

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

Actually speak could be one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have attempts so i can try again one more time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you need help with?

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

We think the verbal is "Speak" (or "to speak") but which type of verbal do you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A verbal is a word that originally is a verb, but now it's changed to or being used as some other part of speech. For example: I like skiing. <or> I like to ski. "Skiing" and "to ski" come from a verb, but now they are functioning as nouns (just like in "I like pizza", the noun is pizza.) Skiing is a gerund (because it has +ing) and "To ski" is an infinitive (because it has "to.")

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

Oh okay that makes a lot of sense! So "to speak" is a gerund verbal, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mhm..

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

I think it sounds good :) What do you two think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to speak is correct but gerund is not

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

Do we know why it's wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have one more attempt to get it right?

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

OH I think we got infinitive and Gerund reversed but I'm not sure...

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

Sorry that was my fault :o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np it was correct

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

Awesome. Thanks @BlueishPastel for the help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for the help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome ;)

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
