Can anyone tell me what mistake I made?
Question:
The second molecule is a chiral; because of the double bonds.
The first compound is definitely chiral, but there is only one stereo center indicated by the carbon highlighted in green; the other one the nitrogen bonded is not chiral.
I had tried that on my first try but it was incorrect.
The second molecule at least isn't chiral the one with those double bonds in conjugation
@aaronq
i think photon's answers are right. in the second picture you posted, "chiral" was selected not "achiral", that may be why you got it incorrect. I'm not sure why you got the first one wrong, the C in green (bonded to the Cl) is the only chiral carbon in the ring (the rest have 2 H's bonded to them) and the carbon double bonded to the N is prochiral, so not chiral. It maybe that they want the E/Z carbons too, if this is so, then the C double bonded to the nitrogen is "chiral". And on the second molecule, the two middle carbons are "chiral" as well.
