Oxidation-reduction reactions are reactions in which: A. Protons are transferred from one reactant to another. B. Electrons are transferred within the same atom. C. Electrons are transferred from one reactant to another. D. Oxygen particles must participate. I hate chemistry, it is just one subject I cannot understand, help please?
@kristinatime what do you think it is.
I think it's either D or B.
?
It's not possible for protons to be exchanged as freely electrons are; they're tightly bound to neutrons in the nucleus. Recall the definition of Oxidation-reduction; a reaction which involves the transfer of electrons between two species. Also recall the oxidation number of a a bonded atom, (number of electrons given to it by another) this is related to Oxidation-Reduction reactions. It's obvious that Oxidation-Reduction occurs between two different atoms, and involves the transfer of electrons. Therefore the answer is C.
Lol I actually put C and got the answer right just now so you're right
I guess I understand this more than I thought
