OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

Niobium has a density of 8.57 g/cm3 and crystallizes with the body-centered cubic unit cell. Calculate the radius of a niobium atom.

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

Are we only looking at one atom?

OpenStudy (dan815):

@abb0t @Empty

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

because I question this because a BCC has 2 atoms in a unit cell

OpenStudy (dan815):

body centered cubic 'unit' cell so

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

each corner is 1/8 and there are 8 corners in a unit cell so that is one atom and then we have the atom in the center

OpenStudy (dan815):

so its from the center to the corners of this cube, that is the radius?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

what do you know what are you looking for what do you need
