Consider the graph of f(x) below. https://northbranchsd.owschools.com/media/o_advalg_2015/2/img_g_alg02u09c03l20d_03.gif Write the equation of f(x), and classify the function as linear, quadratic, cubic, exponential, or logarithmic.

@DanJS @Lily2913 @triciaal
i dont think those tag mssgs are working
for sure not linear
then how you tag then
not sure, prolly will be fixed soon hopefully
ok
since it has 3 zero's then we would quite happily assume it is a cubic polynomial
why you have to put the +b ?
yea my bad
y=a(x+1)(x-1)(x-3) then we know the y-intercept occurs at (0,3) so substitute that into the equation
solve for a, and you should be right. 3=a(1)(-1)(-3)
clearly a=1 so your function is just y=(x+1)(x-1)(x-3)
zeroes don't give you the order all the time do they
depends if you can submit your answer like that our you have to expand it out. which one is required?
nah they don't, this case it does
Just what the expression of f(x) and classify the function.
The teacher will look at what I typed for the equation.
i would probably leave it as f(x)=(x+1)(x-1)(x-3) so it tell her you know that for this case, the zero's make up the cubic polynomial
up to you
yes, may want to expand that out, since you are classifying the thing,, idk
ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + d
