I am confused and don't know which one to put ide on please help. For each negative ion listed. Write what it's formula with Ca2+ Calcium 2+ Chloride- Calcium 2+ Sulfur Calcium 2+ potassium 3- Calcium 2+ Nitrogen 3- Calcium 2+ Bromine -

OpenStudy (infiniite):

You would change the ending of the anion, in this case, Chlorine, Sulfur, Phosphorus (I believe is what you mean), Nitrogen, and Bromine to -ide

OpenStudy (infiniite):

For future reference, when naming ionic compounds, you would change the anion, or negative ion, (never the cation/positive ion) to -ide if it's a monatomic ion of the element.

How would I write those correctly? Sulfuide like that

OpenStudy (infiniite):

You would change the the -ur to an -ide. Giving you: Sulfide The others would be: Chloride Phosphide Nitride Bromide Keep the root word and change the ending to an -ide. If you're ever unsure, type it into google to double check :)

Thank you soooo much!
