Write the chemical equation for the standard molar enthalpy of formation of aluminum nitrate Al(NO3)3
find a reaction that have Al (NO3)3 and others compounds that you can find in a delta H standard of formation and calculate the value of the Al (NO3)3 Al+3(aq) + 3 NO3- (aq) -> Al (NO3)3 (aq) Al(s) + 3 HNO3 (aq) -> Al (NO3)3 + 3 H2O (l) find the delta H of formation of of the compounds and calculate the delta H of formation
attached table
But i need the equation so im not sure how calculating the delta H will help
@Cuanchi
A + B = x + 2C can you calculate the x from this equation?
x=A+B-2C @Cuanchi
now find the delta H of formation for the Al(s), HNO3 (aq) and H2O (l) from the table that I attached in the previous message
Al is 0 HNO3 is -133.9 and H2O is -285.8 @Cuanchi so do I do x=0+(-133.9)-2(-285.8)
Al(s) + 3 HNO3 (aq) -> Al (NO3)3 + 3 H2O (l) x=0 + 3 (-133.9)- (2(-285.8)) you have to balance the equation with 3 HNO3
you have to write the equation only or you have to calculate the standard enthalpy?
maybe I went too far...
I just have to write the equation @Cuanchi
2 Al(s) + 3 N2(g) + 9 O2(g) -> 2 Al(NO3)3 (s)
