how would I write this in factored formed? x(p ‒ 5) + a(p ‒ 5)
Distribute the leading coefficients
so x*p-x*5+a*p-a....
no that's not it.. hold on.
yes it is, you're on the right track
I have paper now.
If you want to know a way quicker and easier way, use the leading coefficients. x(p ‒ 5) + a(p ‒ 5) will turn into (x+a)(p-5) Did they give you any values to plug in for a and p?
alright so what I was trying to do is this... x*p-x*5+a*p-a*5
that doesn't look right to me.
Did they give you any numbers to plug in to a or p?
oooh, okay I'm sorry. So you would do that "easy" way I was talking about.
can you explain how to like..... i just... okay I'm starting to understand but... I'm not understanding where the other 5 goes... there are two 5's and only one 5 in the exaple...
