OpenStudy (steve816):

Please check my answer! A truck is moving at a rate of 90 km per hour and the diameter of its wheels is 1.25 meters. Find the angular speed of the wheels in radians per minute.

OpenStudy (steve816):

I got 2400 radians/min Is that right?

OpenStudy (jchick):

Can you show your work?

OpenStudy (jchick):

(R radians / 1 minute) = (2π radians / 1 revolution) × (1 rev / 1.25π meters) × (1000 meters / 1 kilometer) × (90 km / 1 hour) × (1 hour / 60 minutes)

OpenStudy (jchick):

Notice that the 'missing' information from the problem is all conversion pairs such as 60 minutes = 1 hour.

OpenStudy (jchick):

Everything gets 'chained together' starting with the numerator from the question [find the radians per minute] and ends with the denominator from the question.

OpenStudy (jchick):

Do you understand?

OpenStudy (jchick):

So from this do you get the same answer?

OpenStudy (jchick):

Yes that is correct.

OpenStudy (steve816):

Thanks so much you're awesome :)

OpenStudy (error1603):

k

OpenStudy (jchick):

No problem you should fan me so I can help you again in the future easier. If you haven't already it will be highly appreciated.
