Organic Chemistry: The following three reactions are similar, differing only in the configuration of the substrate. One of these reactions is very fast, one is very slow, and the other does not occur at all. Identify each reaction and explain your choice.

Hi! :D
I'm very glad that you posted this question. the first thing that comes to my mind is an E2 reaction where we use a strong base. for this reaction, we need to draw each of these substrates in the chair from. (I know you learned another method ) but we have to first draw out the chair form for each of the reactants. then you'll see why. An E2 reaction resembles an SN2 reaction, a concerted mechanism, and takes place in a single step. Ignore what I did here. I'm going to draw each of these in the chair form. |dw:1446674351280:dw|
