Which of the following substance would show the greatest temperature change upon absorbing 100 J of heat? The answer is 10.0 g Au, C Au = .128 J/gC but how do you get that?

OpenStudy (mtepecz):

were you given the specific heat for anything?

The formula used is the one for specific heat capacity wich is:\[Q=mC \Delta T\] and we want to find \[\Delta T\] so it turns into \[\Delta T=\frac{ Q }{ m°C }\] I'm guessing there are multiple answers to your question so you find ∆T for each one until you find the one with the greatest temperature change. Hope this helps! :)
