PLEAAASSSSSEEE HELLLLPPP MEDAL AND FAN given a thermochemical equation with ΔH equals -10kl/mole, is the reaction endothermic or exothermic ? Draw the potential energy diagram for this reaction.

Exothermic reactions occur when the heat is released out of the system to the surrounding. So the enthalpy is negative. Endothermic reactions occur when the heat is absorbed in to the system from the surrounding so the enthalpy is positive.

In an exothermic reaction the heat in the product side is less than the reactant side that is why the enthalpy is negative. So in the diagram the heat of the products should be less than the reactants' heat
