A square with vertices at (4, 6), (2, 3), (5, 1) and (7, 4) is rotated 90° clockwise. Its new coordinates are: Select one: a. (–4, –6), (–2, –3), (–5, –1) and (–7, –4) b. (3, –2), (6, –4), (4, –7) and (1, –5) c. (–6, 4), (–3, 2), (–1, 5) and (7, –4) INCORRECT d. (–4, 6), (–2, 3), (–5, 1) and (–7, 4)

C is wrong and I dont know what to do :?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think D is correct because i get 6,-4 , 3,-2 , 1,-5 , 4,-7 which is like d but backwards

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MrNood

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe something is wrong with the answer choices or question ..

Nnesha (nnesha):

that's not D the rule we use for clockwise rotation is \[\huge\rm (x,y) \rightarrow (y, -x)\]

Nnesha (nnesha):

for 90 clockwise rotation

Nnesha (nnesha):

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @LegendaryNikki I think D is correct because i get 6,-4 , 3,-2 , 1,-5 , 4,-7 which is like d but backwards \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) option D is `d. (–4, 6), (–2, 3), (–5, 1) and (–7, 4)`

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i know that eqation so the real answer isnt one of the choices?

Nnesha (nnesha):

your answer is correct u got `6,-4 , 3,-2 , 1,-5 , 4,-7` that's correct so new coordinates are (6,-4)(3,-2)(1,-5)(4,-7) now the domain is 6,3,1,4 ( all x values )

Nnesha (nnesha):

are you sure u typed hat correctly ?

Nnesha (nnesha):

that**

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i guess its not one of the answer choices can you help me with something else?

Nnesha (nnesha):

and you sure it's `90 clockwise` not 180 clockwise ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it says 90

Nnesha (nnesha):

hmm not sure then

what about this one for dilation i thought you just doubled it A triangle has side lengths of 12, 15 and 9. A dilation could result in a triangle with which of the following side lengths? Select one: a. 4, 7 and 1 b. 2, 3 and 3 c. 24, 30 and 20 Incorrect d. 4, 5 and 3
